Tretorn was founded in 1891 in Helsingborg and has been an innovation-driven brand since its inception, which creates high quality, functional and modern products. In 2016, Tretorn celebrated 125 years, a milestone that meant that the company began to think about its basic philosophy and what types of products they are going to sell over the next 125 years.
In a time of huge climate challenges, Tretorn decided to take even greater responsibility and use the limited resources of the Earth more innovative. Tretorn realized that in order to make a real difference and contribute to sustainable development, they must start producing everyday products with a clear eco mind set.
Shortly thereafter, together with the Naturkompaniet, The Left Over Project was launched, where Tretorn bought left over watches from factories and created a raincoat collection of fabric that had been discarded. The project was a success. From the cooperation, Tretorn’s new sustainability initiative Eco Essentials emerged.
Already with AW18, Tretorn shattered the high-level goals of the initiative and featured 80% of all rainwear in Eco Essentials and 100% of all sneakers. Making the brand a true front-runner for brands transitioning into circular thinking.
